Simple to fit to the battery and secured using cable ties. Worked really well for a 3 years, but then the on off switch (which was always pretty stiff to operate) failed. Having said that I’d still recommend it if you want a discreet fitting that you can tuck away.
Did the job. Worked well.
Does the job so far. Mounted it on my bike and tested it a bit.
Will report back after a long ride.
Easy to fit. Nice switch too. Also waterproof and fused. . My Sony z5 charges great. And girlfriends iPhone 6
Cool kit easy to fit and there is plenty of wires length.
Good solution if you do not need a bulky socket. The switch also means it won't run your battery down at all.
I have just returned from a 6,000 mile trip from London, up through Norway and over to Moscow (more info at [...] This little bit of kit was the single most useful thing I took. I had my reservations as it's quite inexpensive and I couldn't believe it would work consistently and last the duration. I was wrong on both counts. It was very easy to wire in (literally, two minute job) and then it just worked. Every time my phone or iPad was getting low on juice I plugged it in and hey presto, it was charged in a couple of hours. It removed all the hassle of trying and find places to charge devices on the road. I can't recommend it enough. It also worked fine in very bad weather and I did nothing to water proof it. I just attached it to the side of the bike (Kawasaki ZX636) and left it. It was faultless for the whole trip. Really nice to chance across a well made bit of kit that does what it's supposed to. If I had to find fault, it would be the little light that tells you if it's charging or not is quite dim, but really, that is nit-picking in the extreme. If you're planning a long trip I would recommend this whole heartedly.
The charger wired in easily to the battery on my VN900, I have the switch attached to the frame just under the seat and the cable then runs under the pillion and slips easily inside my Kuryakyn pannier. I take the point about the position of the switch made by the other reviewer, but on my cruiser-style bike it worked great. I have used the charger for my iPhone, iPad and Tom Tom GPS and it worked perfectly with each of them. So much so, that I have cancelled an order for an active mount for my TT Rider as this just does the job. I am now off camping in Wales happy that I can keep my electronic toys running.
I use this to run a permanent usb powered camera and it works.
Very easy to wire up and with on off switch it will never run the battery down.
Really effective charging system. The on/off button is really helpful as it reduces the chance of running the battery dead. Has yet to fail me and has been used in very heavy downpours.
